Very friendly rangers and the grounds are well groomed.

Lovely place to drive into and I like the places you can stay at and camp at. The lake is still there which is good.

We enjoyed our stay here. The park ranger is super friendly and helpful. We just wished there had been a way to go swimming without having to travel to Bastrop park.

A bathroom with showers is available. A fire box/grill, picnic table, trash pole and water spout are at every lot in that area. 47 had a large 12x12 tent pad that fit my 10x8 family tent very nicely. 48 did not have a sectioned tent pad but my 3x6 backpacking tent fit nicely under the trees and I had a lot of options for setting up my hammock. Both areas are shaded by huge trees, 48 more so.

The forest was beautiful but the bathrooms need major renovations. And lake signs says no swimming which is a major bummer, especially in hot weather. We went fishing but the alge was getting in the way. It would be nice if they could improve the health of the lake for swimming and fishing. As well as build peers for fishing and swimming.

Wonderfully quiet place. Paved roads and concrete pads for your RV. Wooded but not so much you can't comfortably access camping areas. Great little cabins with a view of the lake.

I had a very nice 3 day visit in March 2017. The park itself isn't huge and the trails are a little lacking but the tall trees are a welcome scenery change from San Antonio. I stayed in lots 47 & 48 which I highly recommend. Both lots gave a direct view of the lake with 48 being the closest to the lake and the bigger of the two.
